A day without downloads.

Yesterday night by around 10:30 I was ready with the download links for “The English Patient” but there was a partial black out in the monitor. Only the lower half of the monitor was visible the upper half was totally black. There is some loose contact and we tried in vein to tighten the plugs and gave up finally. I let go off hopes of watching a movie. Some how I was not interested in watching TV.

I was yawning already and decided to go get some sleep. Reading a book would be a catalyst for a sound sleep, so i continued reading ‘Five Point Someone’ from where I have stopped last night. This is a wonderful book, well narrated and quite interesting. Usually I give up after reading 30-40 pages because I can’t stay focused and read for more than an hour. But not yesterday and managed to read more than hundred pages! I think this speaks louder than my words about this book. By 11:30 pm I was already half asleep and lost in dreams.

The alarm ringed at sharp 8:00 am and I woke up. I don’t like to be woken up by an alarm but can’t help it! I was ready by 8:45. Nothing much happens on Fridays. Its very dull in office – everybody is in a different mood and most of them leave after lunch. I like Fridays only because it is succeeded by a weekend, otherwise it’s boring.

The good thing about this weekend is that there are 2 great movies being screened in our multiplex – Sarkar Raj and Narnia – Prince Caspian. Both the movies are given a big hype but I have to watch the movies before I can comment on them. Our project team has planned for a Wondrella trip on Saturday, this is not the first time we planned a trip, trips are planned and dropped at the last minute, and I don’t think it will be any different this time.

One more day goes by

I woke up with high hopes, hoping that I would get some work today, hoping that I would have some thing to do, different from what I had been doing since some time, but no luck again. We have fixed a client meeting to discuss some critical changes in the application, but they didn’t show up. So we will have to wait for another couple of days for the next meeting.

I have my own ways of killing time. The best one is keep browsing all the time and at times check the Infy bulletin board. The bulletin board is all about fun. There is always some one to post a new topic and it is followed by a series of replies most of it doesn’t make much sense but just keep the BB rocking! The hot topic today was the rising oil prices, the post keeps flooding the BB and nobody knows where the whole discussion is going!

Its time to go to the gym but iam not sure whether to go out and flex the muscles or go to the dormitory and relax the muscles. These days iam getting increasingly lazy so I usually skip the gym and go to the dorm instead.

There comes my team mate with some doubts. She is sincere at work, good god! We have been looking for one like this since some time. Most of the work in the project is now done by her; let me add one thing, that iam not acting like a manager here. She has to get the hang of all the different tasks we do in the project, soon she will have to handle the application all alone. So it is required of me to let her do most of the tasks to ensure a smooth knowledge transfer.

I have made up my mind. Iam going to hit the gym today, no backing off. The only thing that pulls me back is that I have to go and work out alone; I tell you this is damn boring. My gym partner - Antony is busy with some work.

This scribbling to continue….
